Our aim, in the way of Jesus is to become a gift of sacrificial love for the sake of others. But the thing about “others” is that no matter how pure the intentions to love, we inevitably wrong and are wronged by the very people we’re trying to love. If we are to truly become a gift of sacrificial love for the sake of others, we also need to become a people of sustained forgiveness for the sake of others.
