Welcome to Bridgetown
Our community is built around the idea of practicing the way of Jesus, together, in our city. We believe that to be an apprentice of Jesus is to order your life around three goals: be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did.

Church is more than a two-hour gathering on a Sunday. Church is not only a crowd gathered around a stage, but a Community sharing life around a table. Bridgetown Communities are the primary way that we practice the way of Jesus, together, in Portland. Our next Basics Course will take place in the Fall, where you learn about Bridgetown Communities, and at the end of the course will be placed into a new or existing Bridgetown Community.

If you are a follower of Jesus and have yet to enter the waters of baptism, we encourage you to take that step. The Baptism Class provides an opportunity to talk through the new identity, new family, and new mission that we have in Jesus. It also provides a great space to answer any questions you might have as you take this important step.

Practicing the Way courses are 4-week long discipleship courses that provide an interactive environment to learn and put what Jesus taught into practice. Each Practicing the Way course is centered on a different spiritual practice, or what some call spiritual disciplines. Learn more about upcoming courses.

Serve
our city
Loving and serving others is core to the way of Jesus. Learn more about ways to serve in the Bridgetown family and beyond.
Serving at Bridgetown
We want to serve our city and our church family well. There are many opportunities to serve both on Sundays and throughout the week. We are a family and like a family we all must pitch in. Discover all the ways you can care for others.
Justice & Mercy
Justice, reconciliation, and mercy are central virtues in the Kingdom of God. As followers or Jesus, we are called to engage faithfully and wholeheartedly with areas of brokenness and injustice locally and globally. We desire to extend a circle of divine compassion and make sure that no one is left outside of it.
Bridgetown Communities
More than two hours on a Sunday, church is about sharing life together. Bridgetown Communities are the way we gather during the week around the table and on mission to our city to be the people of Jesus in our neighborhoods. This is how we practice the way of Jesus together in Portland.
