Kids

We believe kids are not the future of the church, but that kids are the church. We desire to partner with parents for the holistic formation of their kids, which is why we consider our kids gatherings as more than just childcare. Through community-based discipleship experience we are inviting kids to be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did.

Sundays

Sundays are the primary day that Bridgetown Kids gather together to play, learn from Scripture, pray, and practice community. Our classrooms are a fun, safe, and engaging environment. We provide unique classroom experiences for infants – grade 5. We offer care for infants and preschoolers for the length of the gathering, with elementary kids joining the entire church for worship before being dismissed to learn from Scripture with their peers.

Time: 9 AM, 11 AM, & 5PM
Location: 2120 NE Tillamook St.
Portland, OR 97212

Mother’s
Lounge

A private, quiet room is available on Sunday mornings for mothers of crying babies and those who are nursing. Located around the corner from the information desk, the Mother’s Lounge provides live video of the gathering, a comfortable couch and glider, as well as a changing table.

Check-In

We require that all kids are registered and checked-in by a parent or guardian for their safety and security. For new or visiting families, in order to enjoy a smooth check-in process, please register in advance on Church Center.

Family
Parking

Parking for families is available in each of our parking lots, located on NE 21st and NE Tillamook St. Parking is limited, so we recommend arriving early to be sure you find a space. On street parking is available around the building, with a short walk through a safe neighborhood.

Family Discipleship

At Bridgetown, our goal is that every person – adult and child – would be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did. With this in mind, our vision for family discipleship is no different than the rest of our church: Practice the Way of Jesus, together in Portland. We desire to partner with families in their formation journey by offering experiences of divergence, convergence, and emergence.

Imagine a day at the beach with your family: the sand, the surf, and the sea. Kids making sand castles. Parents and kids splashing in the waves together. Learning to swim in the deeper waters. Together, these three spaces reflect the partnership between families and Bridgetown Church in the formation of kids & youth.

Developmentally safe and appropriate spaces for kids and youth to be with Jesus.

Curriculum

On Sundays, our elementary kids gather for both a large group teaching and small group time. Our curriculum, Wonder Ink, helps us explore core values: God Knows Me, Jesus Loves Me, The Holy Spirit Leads Me, and I am a Child of God. We'll journey through the story of the scriptures every year, with weekly time to practice community with leaders and peers. Parents are encouraged to create an online account for ongoing access to lesson videos, discussion questions, and more resources for convergence, connecting discipleship at home and at church.
