Advent Season
The season of Advent is one in which we enter into mystery and wonder, living in the reality of what is incomplete and in anticipation of Jesus coming again to make all things new. Together we enter into the story of God and his people, sitting with how very long they waited for the Messiah, and the reality that we, too, are awaiting his return.
Over the four weeks of Advent, we’ll explore themes of hope, peace, joy, and love—preparing our hearts to celebrate the birth of Immanuel on Christmas Day. As we look back, we also look forward, anticipating the next Advent of Christ, when he will make all things new, bringing the fullness of justice and peace. Gather with us at Bridgetown for the Advent Gathering on Dec 3, and celebrate with us on Christmas Eve.
Table Liturgy
For the Sunday following Christmas:
In place of gathering together as a congregation on Sun, December 28, we are meeting in homes to remember and renew—to reflect on the work of renewal that God has been up to in our lives over the last year and to recommit to walking in step with that transformational work in the year to come.
