Newberg Church Plant
After years of planning and praying, we are excited to announce a church plant in Newberg, Oregon. Newberg is a small town on the edge of the Portland metropolitan area. It has a unique population of families, enjoying the beauty of wine country, and young students moving to the city for college. Newberg is on the edge of growth with the metropolitan area of Portland continuing to expand. We want to see Newberg, and the entire Willamette Valley, known as a place where God’s presence is moving and lives are being transformed by the work of Jesus.
In God’s presence all the right things grow and all the wrong things die away; that intimacy with the father was how Jesus did ministry, and it is his ultimate goal for all of creation. We want to see a Newberg transformed due to the hopeful work of the Holy Spirit, and the increase of faith, hope, and love in the Bride of Christ.
Alex & Emily Rettmann
Alex grew up in the Portland area, and joined the Bridgetown staff in 2012 after graduating from George Fox University. Before joining the staff at Bridgetown Church, Alex knew that church planting was in his future. Emily grew up in the Portland area, and attended Multnomah University. The two met at Bridgetown, were married in 2014, and lead Bridgetown’s High School group, Young Adults ministry, and Prayer team. For several years Alex and Emily continued to plan for a future church plant, but waited for God to speak specifically about a people and a place. As church planters, they have a desire to host the presence of God, and to form a community that puts focus on the transformational work of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
